Find a Job on LinkedIn
LinkedIn has recently improved their job search feature, which means you have yet another place to go look for jobs and internships aside from your other favorite job search engines. LinkedIn has unique position listings and aggregates from other sites as well. Here are some tips on how and why LinkedIn’s job search feature can be useful to you!
1. Use Advanced Search. After you click on the Jobs link in the header, click “Advanced” next to the search box at the far right of your screen to open up the advanced filters. Here you can search for internships, by job function, or search all jobs within an industry, and more.
2. LinkedIn highlights job opportunities at companies where you have connections. When you click on a job that you’re interested in or a job featured for you, LinkedIn shows you how you’re connected to other people who work at that company or in a similar position.
3. Jobs You May Be Interested In Feature. This is the first screen you see (it’s new and improved) when you click on Jobs in the header, and it is tailored to your experience and keywords in your profile. LinkedIn will message you “Jobs you may be interested in” via email if you have this in your settings.
4. Save Jobs. Browse to your heart’s content and click the “Save Job” link on the job listing to have the position saved for you. Access your “short list” of saved jobs in that section of your LinkedIn profile.
