Check out this exciting new program by Major League Baseball Advanced Media. MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM), the interactive media and Internet company of Major League Baseball will be holding its first-ever tech challenge beginning this March. The challenge, Bases Coded, is part of MLBAM’s major gaming initiative and will offer teams the opportunity to hack at the convergence of sports and technology while utilizing MLBAM’s private data API. Bases Coded – @basescoded on Twitter – will be open to students, professionals and anyone else who thinks they can build a team to create the next great interactive media product for baseball fans. During the competition, participating teams will be able to interface with MLBAM’s technologists, developers and engineers with the selected finalists showcasing their projects to a panel of industry experts and a live audience at an Internet Week NY event this May. The grand prize will be awarded to the winning team at that event after the judging concludes. To register for more information on the challenge, visit basescoded.com.
