The University of Washington community is excited to announce the inaugural Veterans Appreciation Week, Nov. 5–11.
Here are a couple of the key events saluting the UW students, alumni, faculty and staff who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces:
Lecture: Acting U.S. Surgeon General Boris Lushniak
Thursday, Nov. 7, 6:30–8 p.m.
As acting surgeon general, Dr. Lushniak shares the best available scientific information with the public on how to improve personal health and the health of the nation.
Veterans Day Celebration and Ceremony
Monday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m.
This tribute and ceremony includes a performance by the Husky Marching Band; recognition of the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Veteran Award recipient, Mr. Charles Matthaei, ’43; and a post-ceremony reception in Kane Hall.
