Career / Event: 11th Annual Career Symposium for Grad Students & Postdocs

The Career Center and The Graduate School are hosting the 11th Annual Career Symposium for Grad Students & Postdocs on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 4-7pm. Both grad students and postdocs are invited to hear from a panel of employers at 4pm (Accenture, Fred Hutch, Philips, City of Seattle, EPA) followed by a networking reception with alumni who have successfully transitioned from grad school to non-academic roles at 5:30pm. I would appreciate your help in sharing this event with graduate students & postdocs you work with in your roles.

Networking Reception: Grad Students, Postdocs & Alumni; January 22, 2015, 5:30-7pm, Kane 225
Wondering how to get started on that “networking” thing? Want to meet some people who don’t work in your lab?  This is a unique opportunity for grad students and postdocs to chat with interesting graduate-level alumni in a safe and semi-structured environment.  Attendees will have the chance to practice their networking skills and create new connections with 12-15 friendly graduate-degree holders who’ve found meaningful work and are eager to help others do the same by sharing tips, contacts, and maybe even some job leads.  All grad students and postdocs are encouraged to attend because “you just never know” if you’ll meet the person who leads you on a path to professional success!  And, best of all, the event will include free refreshments (snacks, wine & beer)!  No registration required.
