Position Title: Graduate Assistantship – Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Global Libraries Initiative
The graduate assistant will work closely with the Gates Foundation Library (GFL) staff to provide library services to the Gates Foundation employees. The GFL connects staff to internal and external research, links staff to each other, and provides resources and professional librarian services to enhance the ability of staff to make informed program decisions and stay current with field and stakeholder information. The graduate assistant will provide general library and research support to staff as needed and will include a broad range of skills and responsibilities. Project and research areas will focus on content delivery platforms (optimizing the search experience for our users; portal updates), collection management (working on the Open Access policy implementation, knowledge management), and research and advisory services. The graduate assistant is expected to work at the foundation offices in Seattle and will be encouraged to attend weekly staff meetings.
This position will average 20 hours per week. Registration for Independent Study, Directed Fieldwork or Internship Credit will be expected as part of this engagement. The position is posted on iCareers: ID 2470.
