Innovative? Find Your People
Wed, Nov 9, 5:30-7:30pm, HUB 145

Thinking about entering the Health Innovation Challenge, Environmental Innovation Challenge or the spring Business Plan Competition? You will want to come hear these people talk about their experiences.  Marene Wiley will fill us in on JikoPower, a startup bringing electric chargers to remote areas of Africa, Alex Jiao will present the exciting story of his team’s development of a stem cell bank called miPS Labs, and Emily Willard will tell us what it took to bring her capstone idea for preventing vaccine contamination, Engage Biotech, through multiple competitions in one year. It’s also another chance to form a team around an idea you are passionate about. No registration necessary. Food and drink provided.

Beyond these team formation events students from around the region might find each other through their capstone courses, on-campus maker-spaces, and/or friend groups. Innovators will be popping up all over!

Optional Team Formation Virtual Connect: Create your profile and see who is interested in joining a team.

Prototype Funding

Students who know they are going to enter the Health Innovation Challenge can apply for small amounts of prototype funding to help demonstrate their idea to others. Small amounts of funds, generally $500 – $3000, are awarded to teams and it’s amazing to see what they do with those funds. The window for applications is:

Application window OPENS: November 14
Application window CLOSES: December 12
