Autumn 2019 DFW Opportunities
Deadline: Autumn 2019 Directed Fieldwork due by September 12, 2019 in iCareers
Hi Everybody!
Some late-breaking DFW and job opportunities have opened up this week; please note that quite a few of the fall DFW opportunities overall have the potential to become Capstones. Save yourself some stress, and get your Capstone sorted out early!
- Graduate Assistant Apprenticeship for an MLIS student from an underrepresented group; this is a paid assistantship at Shoreline Community College Library, with a minimum commitment of 6 hours per week. You’ll get reference and instruction experience, and mentoring from a couple of fantastic librarians. This opportunity is also available for DFW credit. iCareers #9492
- Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) Library Intern. This internship will provide experience in cataloging, reference, collection development, project management, and taxonomy. iCareers #9441
- The City of Edmonds is looking for an MLIS student for a part-time (20 hours/week) paid records management job that will run from September through May 2020. The City is digitizing its records, currently held in three different facilities, that trace the history of Edmonds and parts of Snohomish County from 1890-present. This opportunity is also available for either DFW or Capstone credit. Contact Helene if interested; an iCareers posting is forthcoming.
- JAS Design Build needs a photo archives intern to organize and create metadata for their photo collection. This DFW has the potential to become a Capstone. iCareers #9476
Check in iCareers for other DFW opportunities, and get your experiential learning entry into iCareers by September 12.
