Dempsey Startup Competition, April 6

Dempsey Startup Competition

Deadline: Entries due April 6, 2020.

The Dempsey Startup Competition (formerly known as the Business Plan Competition) is the big finale of the competition season! The Dempsey Startup gives students practice in the dynamics of venture creation by developing an idea, putting together a founding team, writing a business plan, and presenting to investors. In fact, many ideas that started as a class project turned into a start-up company through the competition process!

This is a multi-round competition. In 2019, 113 teams entered the Screening Round (round 1), from which 36 teams advanced to the live, in-person Investment Round (round 2). From there, 16 teams moved forward to participate in the Coaching Round (round 3) and the Sweet Sixteen (round 4). Four teams will advance to the Final Four and will take home the top prizes!

In just over seven weeks, teams will bring their incredible products and innovations to the point they can have a real, positive impact on the world!

ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday, April 6, 2020
SCREENING ROUND: April 9-12 (Top 36 teams announced Monday, April 13)
INVESTMENT ROUND: Wednesday, April 29, 2020
COACHING ROUND: Thursday, May 14, 2020
