
Conference Funding: SALALM Conference Scholarship
Deadline: Applications due March 16, 2020.
Since its founding in 1956, the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM) has engaged in a wide variety of projects and programs designed to advance the scholarly study of Latin America, the Caribbean, Iberia and the Latino/a diasporas. SALAM is offering a scholarship that enables master’s candidates in an ALA-accredited library and information studies program or an archival studies program to attend the next SALALM annual conference, June 5-8, 2020, hosted by the University of California, Davis.
Who Should Apply:
Students who have career aspirations involving service to academic users
seeking information about or researching topics involving Latin America,
the Caribbean, Iberia, or their diasporas are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited master’s program (or equivalent) in the United States or Canada; have completed at least one quarter or semester of study; and demonstrate competency in at least one of the region’s major languages.
