Event: MLIS End-of-Year Banquet

Current MLIS students are invited to the MLIS End-of-Year Banquet from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Washington Park Arboretum’s Wisteria Hall, to celebrate our accomplishments and toast the graduating cohort. Hosted by ALISS, iYouth, SAA, and sALA, the event will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and music. iYouth will announce its Summer Reading Challenge, and attendees can learn about MLIS events planned for the summer. As this is not a sit-down banquet, the tone of the evening will be casual yet refined. Attendees are encouraged to dress however they feel most comfortable.

The application window for the Washington Library Association (WLA) 2019-2020 scholarships is now open. There are five memorial scholarships, created and funded by families and friends in memory of their loved ones to honor each person’s service to libraries.
