Employment: Collections Care Consultant

Founded in 1985, Korean American Historical Society (KAHS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the collective memory of Korean Americans through collecting, maintaining, and transmitting the heritage and achievements of Koreans living in the United States and abroad. KAHS collects oral histories, photographs and memorabilia regarding the Korean diasporic experience. KAHS has published journals, monographs and books, and has held presentations resulting from this collection. KAHS is in the process of building a digital archive of our records in order to make this information more widely available. KAHS is housed at The Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience.

Since its founding in 1956, the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM) has engaged in a wide variety of projects and programs designed to advance the scholarly study of Latin America, the Caribbean, Iberia and the Latino/a diasporas. SALAM is offering a scholarship that enables master’s candidates in an ALA-accredited library and information studies program or an archival studies program to attend the next SALALM annual conference, June 5-8, 2020, hosted by the University of California, Davis.
