The FIUTS Student Board is a great opportunity for UW students to develop leadership and teamwork skills, while fostering global community on campus. Members build professional networks and gain real-world experience working with the nonprofit sector. Election to the yearlong student leadership team is a competitive process and applications for the 2016-2017 academic year are currently being accepted.
- Advocate for FIUTS values of peace, community, diversity, dialogue, engagement, and service
- Improve your leadership, organizational, event planning, and communication skills
- Learn about the nonprofit sector while serving on a nonprofit Board of Trustees
- Work closely with FIUTS staff in carrying out the organization’s programs and mission

Applications are still open for students to host a booth at CulturalFest this February 26th. Booths are hosted by UW students and give students an opportunity to present their country and culture through photos, art, music, interactive activities and conversation. Applications are due on February 1st and booth spaces are limited, so please encourage interested students to apply as soon as possible. Join FIUTS this February and represent YOUR country or culture at the 2015 CulturalFest International Expo!
FIUTS CulturalFest is the biggest multi-cultural student event on campus and a great opportunity for you to showcase your culture by hosting a booth and presenting photos, music, art and/or interactive activities to over 1000 UW students and local Seattle community members.
CulturalFest International Expo includes over 35 booths produced by the UW students and will take place in the HUB Ballroom on February 26th. Applications are available on the FIUTS website and all applications are due on February 1st. Booth space is limited so apply early!

An Evening with Rwanda: “Finding Hillywood” Film Screening & More

Join us for an inspiring and informative film event and discussion to explore Rwanda’s history of transitional justice and healing since the 1994 genocide.
The program includes:
- Transitional Justice in Rwanda: A short film by Rwandan youth about transitional justice in Rwanda, and a few video clips from interviews with personnel (e.g., judges, prosecutors) from the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. (www.tribunalvoices.org)

Join FIUTS this Friday and Saturday for CulturalFest, a two-day celebration of the talent and diversity that international students bring to our campus and community. On Friday from 11:00-3:30 in the HUB Ballroom, explore the world as you visit over 35 country and regional booths led by student volunteers at the International Expo. On Saturday in Meany Hall, take in 12 global music and dance acts at the Performance Showcase (doors at 7:00, show starts at 7:30).

Tickets to the Performance Showcase on Saturday are $10 for students in advance and $15 general admission. FIUTS would like to invite everyone to attend CulturalFest next Friday from 11:00 – 3:00 in Meany Hall Theater.
CulturalFest is the culmination of months of work and planning by over 200 student volunteers! It is the largest multi-cultural celebration on campus and will feature over 25 country booths and 10 cultural performances.
The day time cultural expo is free and open to everyone from 11:00am – 3:00pm and the evening performances (which include the cultural expo) are just $15 / $10 for students in advance and will take place from 8:00 – 10:00 (doors at 7).
