The Student Technology Fee was established to improve technology and access to technology for UW students.  This committee determines the expenditure of the fee and helps manage a multi-million dollar budget.  The Graduate and Professional Student Senate (GPSS) appoints well-qualified students to this committee to ensure your student fees are being well spent.

To apply for a seat on the Committee:  Send your resume and a letter of interest to:  gpssom@u…  Please include your academic program, expected graduation date, and relevant experience.

Notes from the Graduate and Professional Students Senate:

1) Fall Meeting Event/Social with GPSS Vice President Ben Henry: “PAYING FOR THE DREAM: The challenge of financing your own graduate/professional education.”

Come talk with GPSS Vice President Ben Henry about the difficulties in pursuing the American Dream of a quality higher education. We will discuss the current budget crisis and how it affects the rising price of a graduate or professional degree. We will take a hard look at financial aid available to non-funded graduate and professional students, and we will explore various policy solutions. And, most importantly, this will be your opportunity to share your stories and perspectives.

 Make sure and mark your calendars for Thursday, October 29 from 6-9pm for the Zombies vs Vampires Social Event of the year. We will be hosting our fall social in the UW Tower. We will have prizes for best costumes and for those of you who are coming from class and do not have time to dress we will have brains, fangs and blood on site for you to use. Food, drinks (beer and wine!) and music will be provide. Do not miss this fun event and a chance to mix and mingle with grad students from all over campus. More information will follow, I just want to get this first information out so you can all get it on your calendars.
