The Information Technology Division of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) is accepting submissions for its 2019 Joe Ann Clifton Student Award to help cover expenses at the 2019 SLA Annual Conference June 14-18, 2019, in Cleveland, OH, not to exceed $1,500. This award is intended to promote participation in the SLA Annual Conference by an exceptional library science student (or field related to the IT Division’s mission). LIS 598 H (SLN 16268): Information Beyond Borders: Designing for Resilience
Engage with the world in spring quarter: INFX 598 Designing for Resilience. Join Prof Karen Fisher, 5-year embedded field researcher with UNHCR on the Syrian border, as you learn about information worlds in conflict zones and how information and technology can support human relationships and resilience. Taught online, the class takes a global perspective to understand borders, conflict, vulnerability, power, community, and security. Join the class this spring!
UW-IT is currently undertaking various efforts to improve student experiences. Recent efforts include MyUW, SpaceScout, and UW Event Calendar. Beginning in Autumn 2013, we will be conducting multiple user research studies in order to better understand the experience of students and their information needs.
